Steps to take if interested in the Online Home School Program
Step one: Parent/Guardian and student will meet with Home School Lead, who will explain the program, determine interest and evaluate eligibility. Call Rebecca Kiesz for appointment at (619) 644-1940 X188 or for the fastest response please email at rkiesz@helixcharter.net.
Step two: Interested Home School clients should bring two copies of their current transcript, discipline and attendance records. To expedite the process, bring these important documents when meeting with program lead for interest/eligibility meeting. Potential clients will be asked to sign a commitment contract (See “How are Students Evaluated for the Program) and review program expectations.
Step three: All paperwork, including an eligibility evaluation will be submitted to the OHS counselor for review and signed off on by OHS administrator. Students will be notified of their acceptance and enrollment within 72 hours of initial meeting with Rebecca Kiesz. All students are encouraged to maintain school attendance until a decision is made and or a check out/check in process is initiated.
Step Five: Students will work with Rebecca Kiesz for a mandatory first week of enrollment introduction, for two hours a day, acclimating to the program.
Step Six: Home School Counselor will complete full evaluation including 2-year plan for the student to follow.
